Movie Trivia/Goofs

  • The pale pink gown with cerise ruffle along the neckline worn by a ball guest is the same gown worn by Victoria Hamilton (Mrs.Forster) to the Bennet's farewell dinner for the militia in Pride and Prejudice (UK), by a guest at the Crown Ball in Emma (1996) (TV), by an extra attending the play at the asylum in Quills, by a guest at the London ball where Lady Caroline Lamb dances the waltz in Byron (2003) (TV), and by a guest at the London ball in Sense And Sensibility (UK).
  • The production company apparently left behind the flock of doves released at the end of Henry Crawford's fireworks display (filmed in Charlestown, Cornwall). For more than eight years after filming was completed, the birds survived thanks to the efforts of a local woman who feared they would perish, due to having to compete with gulls for food.
  • The sheer, dotted muslin gown worn by Amelia Warner (Fanny Price, age 17) was previously worn by Kate Winslet (Marianne Dashwood) in Sense and Sensibility during the lawn bowling scene at Barton Park. The same costume was later worn by Charity Wakefield (Marianne Dashwood) in Sense And Sensibility (UK) at Norland Park, and by Jennifer Higham (Louisa Musgrove) in Persuasion (2007) (TV) at Uppercross.
  • Movie Goof (anachronisms): The harp that Mary Crawford is playing is a double action harp. The double action harp was not invented until 1810, while the movie took place in 1806.
