Movie Trivia/Goofs

  • Movie Goof (continuity error): When Allegra boards her yacht, she removes her shoes and walks up a boarding ramp. After her short conversation with Hitch, Albert steps up onto the deck before attacking Hitch. When Hitch leaves the yacht minutes later, he has to step up to disembark and the boarding ramp is un-attached and lying flat on the dock. For the amount of real time involved, any tide change would be negligible, the boarding ramp would still be in place, and Hitch would walk down it to get on the dock.
  • Eva Mendes was featured in Will Smith's "Miami" video. She was the girl in the car lip-syncing "Bienvenido a Miami" in the song's chorus. Mendes mentioned this to Smith during rehearsals. But Smith sheepishly admitted that he did not remember her.
  • Allegra Coleman was a fictitious actress created by Esquire magazine in their Nov '96 issue, designed to spoof other magazine's fawning obsession with new stars. The article written about her new "It Girl" status prompted calls from studios and talent scouts eager to offer her scripts. Ali Larter provided the face and body shots for the faux starlet.
  • Michael Rapaport's character Ben underwent many drastic changes during the screen writing process. Among the items that changed during writing and filming, were his personality, nationality, and age.
