Movie Trivia/Goofs

→ View All
  • Movie Goof (continuity error): When Edward is picked up by the scary tree in the woods, the key to the city falls to the ground. In a close-up, the key is still around his neck. Returning to the long shot, the key is again on the ground.
  • Joseph Campbell (III)'s book, "The Hero With A Thousand Faces" appears in this film. It is shown first on a sleeping Edward Bloom (before being picked up and placed on the nightstand by Josephine) and then later it's still on the nightstand during a scene between Ed and Will. Daniel Wallace (II) is an outspoken fan of Campbell's.
  • Wetumpka, Ala., where some scenes for this movie were filmed, is unique in that it sits in a crater left behind by a prehistoric asteroid strike. Tours of the historic downtown area include a tour of what is left of the crater rim, and the feature is quite obvious to visitors once it is pointed out. Every New Year's Eve, the citizens of Wetumpka stage a takeoff on New York City's famous "ball drop" - except Wetumpka uses a rocket-powered metal "asteroid" instead of a lighted crystal ball. The asteroid hurdles down a zip line to strike a flagpole in front of the Elmore County Courthouse.
  • When Josephine asks for Ed Bloom's permission to take his picture she holds a cult rangefinder camera, the Leica M6.
